Bud Light/Silver Eagle Distributors Signs Multi-Year Sponsorship with UTSA Roadrunners Sports Network

SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 14, 2011) – Bud Light/Silver Eagle Distributors, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, is proud to announce its support of UTSA's inaugural football season through a multi-year sponsorship with the UTSA Roadrunners Sports Network, the radio network for all UTSA live sports programming. Bud Light is excited to cheer on San Antonio's newest sports team through a variety of events and programs that are sure to help the UTSA team and its fans paint the city orange and blue!

As part of the sponsorship, Silver Eagle has answered the call to fill the Alamodome with fans by purchasing nearly 5,000 tickets for the inaugural season. "This is a perfect example of a corporation partnering with UTSA," said Dr. Ricardo Romo, president of UTSA. These tickets will be distributed to area military bases, community partners and education programs. "San Antonio residents have a history of coming together in celebration and support of their city, and we are thrilled to be a part of this new college football experience in San Antonio, and for what it means for the city and the University," said John L. Nau, president and CEO of Silver Eagle Distributors. "We looking forward to working with UTSA and the Roadrunners Sports Network to paint this town orange and blue and help rally fans throughout the season."

San Antonians should be on the look-out for the Bud Light fan can – an orange and blue can that will be available at area-retailers throughout college football season. Silver Eagle will also produce and distribute an assortment of co-branded displays and signage for use at retail accounts, and will purchase radio, print and billboard advertisements promoting the 2011 inaugural season. 

At the September 3rd season opener, Bud Light's Mark McKinney will also provide entertainment on the Bud Light stage at Rowdy Town, the official UTSA tailgate headquarters located at Sunset Station. Last but certainly not least, Bud Light will be encouraging all Roadrunners' fans to be responsible if they chose to celebrate with an alcohol beverage. "We want to remind all college football fans to always celebrate responsibly," said Nau. "To encourage fans to make smart choices, we will be implementing our Good Sport Designated Driver program at each UTSA home game. This program encourages game day fans to select a designated driver and show responsible sportsmanship throughout the season."
